JellyfishTo register for this class, kids must be at least 4 months old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids between 4-24 months old who are ready to learn to enjoy the water with a parent/caregiver. Jellyfish is an introductory level for parents with kids as young as 4 months old. It is a parent participation required level that provides an orientation to water for infants and their parent/caregiver.

GoldfishTo register for this class, kids must be at least 12 months old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class with Jellyfish for kids between 4-24 months old who are ready to learn to enjoy the water with a parent/caregiver. Goldfish teaches toddlers how to play in the water safely! From ages 12 to 24 months, these toddlers will learn how to enter and exit the water with help from their parent/caregiver and will play games to encourage them to get their face wet and blow bubbles in the water.

SeahorseTo register for this class, kids must be at least 24 months old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class with Goldfish for kids between 12-36 months old who are ready to learn to enjoy the water with a parent/caregiver. In addition to improving skills from past levels, Seahorse is meant for kids ages 2 to 3 years old and introduces toddlers how to safely enter the water wearing a PFD.

Seahorse PLUSTo register for this level, your toddler should be at least 2 years old by the date of the first class. This level is for toddlers 2 to 3 years old who are ready to swim without caregiver participation. Seahorse+ is a transitional level which transfers the child to the care of the instructor and does NOT require a parent in the water. Children as young as 2, will have fun learning to get in and out of the water.

OctopusTo register for this level, your child should be at least 3 years old by the date of the first class. This class is for swimmers that are starting on their own for the first time. Octopus is our introductory group level for kids ages 3-5. This level is best for kids new to the water or who have finished our parent & tot or transitional Seahorse+ level. Preschoolers will have fun learning to get in and out of the water.

CrabTo register for this level, your child should be at least 3 years old by the date of the first class. Crab teaches preschoolers how to safely jump into chest-deep water and an introduction to swimming wearing a PFD. OrcaTo register for this level, your child should be at least 3 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Orca or Crab. Orca teaches preschoolers how to enter deep water safely. They'll learn how to submerge and exhale underwater, retrieve obejects underwater, and will continue developing their floating, gliding, and kicking skills. Swim for Life - Levels Chart

Sea LionTo register for this level, your child should be at least 3 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Sea Lion or Orca. Sea Lion teaches deep-water entries and treading water. Preschoolers will become skilled at retrieving objects from the bottom of the pool in chest-deep water and performing front and side glide. Front crawl wearing a PFD is also introduced.

NarwhalTo register for this level, your child should be at least 3 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Sea Lion or Narwhal level. Narwhal is for our strongest preschool swimmers. Front crawl and back crawl are introduced as well as interval fitness training. Preschoolers will also learn how to tread water and perform vertical whip kick with a buoyant aid.

Swimmer 1To register for this level, your child should be at least 5 years old by the date of the first class. Swimmer 1 is meant for both beginners who have done some preschool levels, or those who are going into the water for the first time. These beginners will become comfortable jumping into the water with and without a PFD. They’ll learn how to open their eyes, exhale and hold their breath underwater.

Swimmer 2To register for this level, your child should be at least 5 years old by the date of the first class. In Swimmer 2, kids will jump into deeper water and learn to be comfortable falling sideways into the water. Swimmer 3To register for this level, your child should be at least 5 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Swimmer 3 or Swimmer 2 level. In Swimmer 3, kids will learn to do kneeling dives into deep water (facility permitted), forward roll entry, and treading water. They will develop their flutter kick on their front and back, whip kick on their back, along with front and back crawl for 15 metres.

Swimmer 4To register for this level, your child should be at least 5 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Swimmer 4 or Swimmer 3 level. In Swimmer 4, kids will develop their skills in diving (facility permitted), treading water, and swimming underwater. They will learn whip kick on their front. They will also start to develop breaststroke arms.

Swimmer 5To register for this level, your child should be at least 5 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Swimmer 5 or Swimmer 4 level. In Swimmer 5, kids will master dives (facility permitted), and swimming in deep water. They’ll further their entries into deep water. They will also start to develop an eggbeater kick. Breaststroke, front crawl, and back crawl distances are extended to 50m.

Swimmer 6To register for this level, your child should be at least 5 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Swimmer 6 or Swimmer 5 level. In Swimmer 6, kids will become proficient at deep water skills including stride entries and compact jumps (facility permitted). They’ll develop lifesaving kicks such as eggbeater and scissor kick. Breaststroke, front crawl, and back crawl distances are extended to 100 metre.

Swimmer 7To register for this level, your child should be at least 8 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Swimmer 7, 8 or 9 level. In Swimmer 7, Rookie Patrol, kids continue developing front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke. Swimmers develop individual fitness to meet a timed 100 metre swim, and 350 metre workout. Water proficiency skills include: swimming with clothes, ready position, and feet-first/head-first surface dives (facility permitted).

Swimmer 8To register for this level, your child should be at least 8 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Swimmer 7, 8 or 9 level. Swimmer 8, Ranger Patrol, enhances capability in the water including stride entries, and underwater forward and backward somersaults. Swimmers learn lifesaving sport skills with a lifesaving stroke medley, timed object support and a non-contact rescue with a buoyant aid.

Swimmer 9To register for this level, your child should be at least 8 years old by the date of the first class. This is a combined level class for kids in either Swimmer 7, 8 or 9 level. Swimmer 9, Star Patrol, challenges swimmers with a 300 metre timed swim, 600 metre workout and a 25 metre object carry. Strokes are continued to be refined. Lifesaving skills include use of rescue aids, defense methods, victim removals and supporting a victim in shallow water.

Swim Private LessonsPrivate lessons are one-on-one with an experienced instructor. They’re great for kids who need or want a little extra attention. This can also be a semi-private lesson with a maximum of 2 kids of similar levels. If you wish to book a semi private; simply register one child and then follow up with us via e-mail or phone to add the information of the second child. There is no additional cost.

Missed Swim Lesson PolicyWe are happy to issue one missed lesson per set, per child for reasons due to illness/injury. Any further missed lessons require medical documentation. We do not offer make up lessons and we cannot issue credit for scheduling conflicts or vacations.

Swim- Report CardsOur Swimmers will now receive physical report cards at the end of their session. They are no longer available online. Report cards that are unclaimed on the last day of session will be kept at the pool for ONE session. For example, Fall B Report cards will be kept until end of Winter session and thrown away on the First Day of Spring Break. For the breaks, we will keep them for ONE session following for example Summer, we will keep them for Fall A.

Pedalheads Swim Instructor SchoolWe are offering a FREE Lifesaving Society: Swim For Life Instructor Course for individuals that are hired as Pedalheads part-time swim instructors! Participants that complete the course will be certified to teach a variety of swim levels, from Parent & Tot through to Adults. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to explore a career in aquatics with Pedalheads Swim! Pre-requisites: Bronze Cross, completed Standard First Aid CPR-C, completed Minimum age: 15 years old
