Weather Updates for Camp
At Pedalheads, our camps and lessons are designed to run rain or shine so kids can keep learning and having fun. Please review the information below to help your family prepare.
Rain or Shine
All Pedalheads camps and lessons operate rain or shine. Because programs run in most weather conditions, we are unable to provide refunds or credits for classes missed by choice due to weather.
What to Bring
To help your kiddo stay comfortable throughout the day, please ensure they arrive with weather-appropriate clothing and gear, such as:
• Rain jacket or waterproof layer
• Extra layers for cooler days
• Gloves (hands are often the first to get cold in wet or rainy weather)
• Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
• Water bottle
Our instructors adjust activities as needed to keep campers safe and comfortable.
Weather Exceptions
While we typically operate in most conditions, there are rare circumstances where weather may impact camp, including:
• Poor air quality
• Extreme heat
• Severe weather
If extreme weather jeopardizes the safety of campers or staff, certain activities may be paused or modified until conditions improve. Decisions to cancel or adjust programming are made in consultation with regional managers and based on local weather forecasts and advisories.
In the event of a cancellation due to inclement weather, Pedalheads will make every effort to notify all affected families by email, phone, or on-site signage.
How We Adapt to Weather
Hot and Humid Days
On hot days, we take extra steps to keep campers safe and comfortable:
• Frequent water breaks every 10–20 minutes
• Regular shade breaks for snacks and skill-building activities
• Modified programming or indoor activities (where available) during heat advisories
Rainy Days
Camp continues in the rain, so please come prepared. In wet conditions:
• Campers will continue riding outdoors (no indoor riding space for bike camps)
• Activities may be adjusted to include skill-building, safety training, or games under cover during heavier rain
